Quiet work,
made to last.
I’m Elias Moura, an independent art director and designer in Lisbon. For twelve years I’ve helped founders, publishers and cultural institutions find the clearest version of what they already are, then give it a shape that holds up for a long time.
Currently
Drawing a new season of tins for Maré Conservas and a type specimen for Paper Harbour.

I started out setting type for a newspaper in Porto, which taught me two things: there is always less room than you think, and every word has to earn its place.
Since 2014 I’ve run a one-person studio with a small circle of trusted collaborators: a developer, a photographer, a copywriter and a very patient type designer. I take on a handful of projects each year, stay close to them from the first conversation to the last proof, and try to leave every client with a system they can run without me.
